The presentation by our own Ron Butler made at the Delta Day at the Masaachusetts State House regarding the Achievement Gap, can be viewed at the link below.

The presenation regarding technology by our own Dr.Paula Martin, included a homework assignment: To google  "did you know", and view the first item o­n the list, which happens to be a YouTube video of the same name.  Parents and students should view the video to get o­ne idea of how the world may be changing and how rapidly.  Then discuss are they prepared to operate effectively in such future environment.  If not what has to be done now.

Concerned Parents of Color: Ron Brown Scholarship 2008 Winners

Every year millions of black students seek scholarships via a host of avenues.  o­ne of those avenues is the    www.blackexcel.org    website, which lists hundreds of scholarship opportunities.  The journal of Blacks in Higher Education recently listed the 2008 winners for the Ron Brown Scholars scholarship. 

CPC is displaying this list via the link below, so that both parents and students can see that real people actually do win these scholarships and thereby encourage them in their efforts to do the same.

Concerned Parents of Color: Recognition Celebration --- June 14 2008

The 2008 GFCC Recognition Celebration will be held Saturday June 14, 2008 from 3:30 to 6:00 PM.  It will consist of the ceremony held in the sanctuary followed by dinner in the  Fellowship Hall downstairs.

On Thursday May 8, 2008 from 2:00 to 5:30 PM in Nurses Hall, The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will hold Delta Day at the State House o­n the subject of: "Closing the Achievement Gap for Minority Students in Massachusetts".

Our own Paula Martin and Ron Butler will serve as discussion panel participants.
