When is worship really worship?

Worship is best understood as an experience of celebration in honor of God.The person and provisions of God are constantly in view: What God has done in history as well as what he does in the present. True worship is a considered action on our part; it is born out of a basic intent to celebrate God. It is praise of thanksgiving as well as an affirmation of who God is, and what God has done. It involves a high standard of inwarddness and a high degree of involvement. We must bring "self" to worship as an act of worship. Worship must honor God, not as being equal but as our sustainer, creator, and father.

Always keep in mind that worship happens deep within the human spirit. Every Sunday one ought to come prepared to give a personal response to an encounter that God himself has initiated in our interest. Worship is always a celebration that we make in honor and in response to his action. That's when we can say: WE HAD CHURCH TODAY!

Because the tomb is empty!
