On March 22, 2006, the Massachusetts Department of Social Services "Teaming Initiative" , was named o­ne of the TOP 50 Innovations in American Government by the Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government - in cooperation with the Council for Excellence in Government.

Congratulations to the DSS offices that participated in the pilot, including those of our own Evelena Brown (Supervisor), Linda Butler (Area Program Manager), and Valerie Graham (Regional Director).

On May 4, 2006 the DSS initiative was also named as o­ne of the 18 Finalists.  From this group of 18, seven will be chosen to receive awards including a prize of $100,000.
