You mean I can't just Pray?
Oh to be sure you can just open your mouth and pray, but I am talking about making a connection with God. In Luke chapter 18, Jesus tells a parable to address our attutude in prayer. In order to make a connection and really pray an effective prayer, we must move some stuff, issues, and even our "self" out of the way. Prayer is about more than a list of what we want God to do, it is about a relationship with God that he desires with each of us. Prayer and growth go hand in hand and if you really experience God when you pray ,you will know Him and his presence and power for your life and situation. This week I would encourage you to move some stuff that has the potential to hinder you, out of the way and then pray. What awaits you is sweet communion with a God who wants to make clear his will for your life. In the gospel passage of Luke chapter 18, Jesus talks about two people who came to the temple to pray. Take some time this week to move stuff out of your life before you try to pray and watch your time in prayer become more powerful than you could ever imagine.
