Faith and Covenant

Faith

This Church acknowledges as its head, God, the Creator of all heaven and earth and Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Holy Spirit as the Comforter. It acknowledges as brothers and sisters in Christ all who share in this confession. It believes that all of those who are committed to the building of God's Kingdom and strive to keep His commandments are entitled to partake of the Lord's Supper, and that all such with their family are entitled to the Ordinance of Baptism.

Appostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. The third day he arose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the God, the Father Almighty: from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Church [universal], the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen

Covenant

Affirmation by individuals/families coming into membership

By baptism, or Christian Experience, we're received into the visible Church. Baptism signified that we have first of all believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and have been regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit. We take upon ourselves the responsibilities, rights and privileges of full membership in this Church, and so to be admitted to participation in The Lord's Supper regularity, but worthily, with the other members of the Household of Faith. We are required to reaffirm the vows we have made through decision and commitment to God in Christ by making the following statements:
  • We reaffirm our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and desire from henceforth to be His disciple
  • We promise to give ourselves in holy obedience to the service of God in Christ through this Church and wherever else the opportunity presents itself.
  • We promise to be loyal to our Church, faithful in our obligations to the Church, giving honor in all things to God in Christ and not to covet it for ourselves
  • We accept our congregational form of government for our Church, and will be governed by her rules and regulations, insofar as we are able.
  • We promise regularly to attend the public services of worship, to support the Church with our substance, to engage in private devotions, and continue to
  • increase knowledge of the Christian Faith and the administration of our Church.
